Week 3 of the Pop Up Museum

The Asian women's group takeover of our Mobile Pop up

It’s been an action packed week for the Pop Up Museum!

On Wednesday Melissa led an art workshop where kids from Somers Town and the Hopscotch youth group made some wonderful artworks about their lives and their ideas about history. They used screen printing, collage and paint to great effect!

The next day we took the milk float around Somers Town, stopping off outside the Sports Centre to see the boxers and near the Coffee House on Chalton Street. We heard more of your stories and views and perfected our speedrun exhibition assembly. And we definitely needed the ice lollies as the sun was out again!

Friday was a fantastic day for the Pop Up Museum as we had our takeover by the Hopscotch Asian Women’s Centre who made the float come alive with lots of colourful displays of Bangladeshi artefacts. We had a great opportunity to hear some fresh ideas and perspectives, particularly from the young volunteers from Hopscotch who brought a huge amount of enthusiasm to interviewing the community.
